Walt Abbey, PT

It has been great living and working in this community. Through our practice and managing Rehab. at SNMH we have met many wonderful patients/friends.

I have taken over a thousand hours of continuing education to maintain up-to-date treatment techniques. I enjoy the individual diversity of all our patients.

My major goal as manager/owner is top quality evidence based treatment and customer service. Our second goal is to provide a “Laughter is the Best Medicine” environment.

My wife and daughter and outdoor activities are my leisure time enjoyments.

Thanks for inquiring and hope you come visit us if you need quality physical therapy care!

I received my degree in 1985 from the University of Utah. I started out practicing in Salt Lake City at the Latter Day Saints Hospital. From there I went to Humana in Las Vegas working with Orthopedics and then at Casa Colina Hospital working with brain injury patients. I was the Director of Physical Therapy services at Palomares skilled nursing facility in Pamona, CA.

I started working with Walt at Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in 1997 when he was the Director of Physical Therapy. His unique and positive approach to PT made a lasting impression. I was pleased to continue working with Walt in a private practice. I enjoy our professional and personal interaction as a team which we pass on to our patients.

Prior to my 25 years as a PT my endeavors include being a tour guide for Grand Canyon dories and a Sous Chef in Alta, Utah.

My hobbies include white water kayaking, telemark skiing, gypsy swing guitar and playing the Banjo.

Crystal Dickey, Office Manager, Billing Specialist
Hi! Welcome to our office. Being a native of Nevada County is always a positive when talking with patients and answering their many questions. I am married and have three daughters (a grandson on the way) as well as three step-daughters ….and many grandpets! Some of the things I enjoy are walking, reading and projects around the house. I love the outdoors.

I graduated from Sawyer Business College in Ventura, CA with a degree in Legal Secretarial skills and have attended various courses for Physical Therapy billing and office management. I have been involved in owning two businesses in Nevada County.

I have been working for Walt since 2002 starting out as his office manager and receptionist He finally....agreed to let me do his insurance billing a few years ago.

Please feel free to ask any about any concerns you might have with insurance or referrals. Or...maybe just how things work if you’ve never been to physical therapy before.
Megan Moore, Receptionist
Hi! Thanks for your interest in our office! We’d be happy to have you join us any time you need skilled Physical Therapy with a positive approach!

I started working with Walt and the team in 2019, but I’ve actually been a part of the A&A team since I was in high school. I participated in a summer program through the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital in 2013, the summer before my senior year. I met Walt through that program and knew that I wanted to pursue a career in the medical field. After high school, I attended William Jessup University and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology, and completed my Master’s in Kinesiology in 2020.

Outside of work, I love hiking, reading, cooking and spending time with my family and dogs.

I love my job, co-workers, and all of our patients! We strive for a positive and upbeat environment, because even though PT can be difficult, it should still be as fun as possible. Please give us a call if you have any questions about the Physical Therapy experience or would like to get scheduled with one of our amazing PT's!

We have been huge fans of A&A Physical Therapy for many years now. Our daughter has undergone several leg lengthening procedures and required many physical therapy sessions. The entire staff at A&A Physical Therapy has made us feel like family, and our daughter has progressed beyond our expectations.
